These terms apply to your use of naturesconcepts.com.au and to naturopathic services provided by Natures Concepts (Nathan Forbes ND, ABN 88 681 267 309). By using this website or booking an appointment, you agree to them.

This website is not medical advice

The information on this website is general in nature. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment recommendation, and not a substitute for advice from your GP or another qualified health professional.

Nothing on this site should be used to delay, replace or discontinue medical care. If you have a health concern, see your doctor. In an emergency, call 000.

Naturopathy is a complementary therapy and is not a registered profession under AHPRA. Natures Concepts provides complementary healthcare and does not diagnose or treat disease.

Appointments and fees

Current consultation fees are listed on our Fees & FAQ page and may change from time to time. Fees are payable at the time of your appointment by EFTPOS, credit card or cash.

Herbal and nutritional formulas are charged separately from consultation fees.

Naturopathy is not covered by Medicare.

Naturopathy was excluded from private health insurance benefits from April 2019. From 1 July 2025 the Australian Government amended the private health insurance rules to make naturopathy and western herbal medicine eligible again for extras cover. Whether you can actually claim depends on your own insurer and policy — each fund decides whether to include naturopathy, at what benefit level, and what practitioner credentials it requires. Please check directly with your health fund before your appointment.

Cancellations

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, and appointments not attended, incur a $40 fee.

You can cancel through the link in your appointment reminder email, or by contacting the clinic directly.

Your responsibilities

The care we provide depends on the accuracy of what you tell us. Please give complete information about your health history, and about any medications, supplements or other treatments you are using, including anything prescribed by another practitioner.

Please tell your GP about any herbal or nutritional products recommended to you, so that potential interactions can be identified.

Bookings through third parties

Appointments are booked through a third-party online booking system. Information you enter there is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy.

Intellectual property

The content of this website — text, images, logos and design — belongs to Natures Concepts or is used with permission. You may view and print pages for your own personal use. You may not reproduce, republish or use our content commercially without written permission.

Links to other sites

This website may link to other websites for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.

Accuracy of information

We take care to keep this website accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors or omissions, or that it will always be available.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees that cannot be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, Natures Concepts is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website, or from reliance on general information published on it.

Code of Conduct for Non-Registered Health Practitioners

Naturopathy is not a registered profession under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law. In New South Wales, naturopaths and other non-registered health practitioners are instead governed by the Code of Conduct for Non-Registered Health Practitioners, set out in Schedule 3 of the Public Health Regulation 2022 (NSW), and regulated by the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC). This section displays that Code in full, as required.

Under the Code, a health practitioner must:

Provide health services in a safe and ethical way, maintain necessary competence, and practise in accordance with accepted professional standards.
Not provide health care outside the practitioner’s experience, training or qualifications, and not use qualifications to mislead or deceive a client about competence or ability to provide treatment.
Prescribe only treatments that serve the needs of the client, recognise the limitations of the treatment they can provide, and refer a client to other competent health practitioners where appropriate.
Encourage a client to inform their treating medical practitioner, if any, of the treatments they are receiving from the naturopath.
Have a sound understanding of adverse interactions between the therapies provided and other medications or treatments a client is taking.
Ensure appropriate first aid is available, and obtain emergency assistance in the event of a serious misadventure during a consultation.
Practise in a way that does not put clients at risk if diagnosed with an infectious medical condition.
Not hold out that they are qualified, able or willing to cure cancer or other terminal or incurable illnesses, and only claim an ability to treat or alleviate symptoms of such illnesses where that claim can be substantiated.
Adopt standard precautions for infection control.
Not attempt to dissuade a client from seeking or continuing treatment by a registered medical practitioner, and must accept the client’s right to make informed choices about their health care.
Not practise under the influence of alcohol or unlawful drugs, and not treat a client while their ability to practise is or may be impaired, including by prescribed medication.
Not practise while suffering a physical or mental impairment, disability, condition or disorder that detrimentally affects their ability to practise or places clients at risk of harm.
Not financially exploit a client, and not accept or offer financial inducements for client referrals.
Not diagnose or treat an illness or condition without an adequate clinical basis.
Not engage in misinformation or misrepresentation about the services provided or the practitioner’s qualifications, training or professional affiliations, and not make unsubstantiated claims, in advertising or otherwise, about the efficacy of treatment or services.
Not engage in a sexual or other close personal relationship with a client.
Maintain accurate, legible and contemporaneous clinical records for each consultation.
Maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
Keep client health information confidential and ensure their privacy is protected.

How to make a complaint about a health service

If you have a concern about the care, treatment or professional conduct of Natures Concepts, we encourage you to raise it with us directly first — contact details are below, and we will do our best to resolve it with you.

The Commission can investigate a complaint that a non-registered health practitioner has breached the Code of Conduct, and if satisfied that a practitioner poses a risk to public health or safety, can issue a prohibition order or place conditions on their practice. The Commission is not able to order compensation, refunds or fee reductions.
