Fees and common questions

What it costs, and what to expect

Everything below is what people usually want to know before booking a first appointment. If your question isn’t here, call the clinic and ask — Nathan would rather have a short conversation than have you book something that was never going to suit.

Telehealth consultations are charged at the same rates — $175 for an initial appointment, $80 for a follow-up. NET appointments involve hands-on muscle testing, so those are in person only. Herbal and nutritional formulas are dispensed separately and charged at cost. Payment by EFTPOS, credit card or cash.

Cancellations. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. You can cancel directly from your reminder email, or send Nathan a message.

Cancellations inside 24 hours, and appointments not attended, incur a $40 fee.

Common questions

Before you book

What do I need to do before my first appointment?

You’ll be sent a Wellness Check Questionnaire when you book. Please complete it and email it back to nathan@naturesconcepts.com.au before you come in.

It matters more than it might sound. The questionnaire is what lets Nathan structure the appointment around you rather than spending the first twenty minutes gathering basics, so please don’t arrive without having sent it.

If you can, also bring any recent pathology results and a list of the medications and supplements you’re currently taking.

Can I claim a private health fund rebate?

Possibly — this changed recently. Naturopathy was excluded from private health insurance rebates from April 2019, but the Australian Government made it an eligible extras therapy again from 1 July 2025.

Nathan is a full member of the Complementary Medicine Association (CMA) and holds a CMA provider number, so he is a recognised provider with Australian health funds. The number isn’t published here — call the clinic if your fund asks for it, or you’ll receive it on your receipt at your appointment.

Whether you can claim still depends on your own policy. Each fund decides for itself whether to include naturopathy, what benefit applies, and what waiting periods and annual limits are attached — so check your extras cover before booking.

Naturopathy is not covered by Medicare.

Should I tell my GP I’m seeing a naturopath?

Yes, please do. It’s worth your GP knowing about any dietary changes you’re making, and it’s important if you’re taking prescribed or self-prescribed medications or supplements, so that any interactions can be picked up early.

Nathan works alongside your GP, midwife or specialist, not around them.

Do you see babies and young children?

Yes. Nathan sees babies, children and teenagers, with care adapted to each stage — feeding and settling in infants, and immunity, fussy eating, skin and sleep as children get older.

How many appointments will I need?

It varies, and it depends on what you come in with and how you respond. Nathan will give you a sense of it at your first appointment and review as you go, rather than committing you to a set number up front.

Do I need an appointment to collect more supplements?

No. If you’re continuing on something Nathan has already dispensed, you can drop in and collect it — no appointment, no consultation fee. Email ahead and he’ll have it ready.

Book an appointment when you want to review how things are going or discuss something new.

Can I see Nathan by telehealth?

Yes. Naturopathic consultations can be done by video or phone, at the same fees and appointment lengths as coming into the clinic. Choose the telehealth option when you book and you’ll be sent the details beforehand.

NET appointments involve hands-on muscle testing, so those need to be in person.

Telehealth suits follow-ups particularly well, and it’s worth considering if you’re outside the Macarthur area or getting to Gledswood Hills isn’t practical. Any herbal or nutritional formulas Nathan dispenses can be posted to you.

Where do I park?

There is plenty of undercover parking at the rear of the building.

What are Nathan’s qualifications?

Nathan received his Diploma of Naturopathy in October 2003 from the College of Somatic Studies, and has been in practice for over twenty years.

He is also a certified NET (Neuro Emotional Technique) and NIS (Neurological Integration System) practitioner.

Nathan is a full member of the Complementary Medicine Association (CMA), which sets professional standards and a code of conduct for its members.

Still deciding?

Ask before you book

If you’re not sure whether naturopathy is the right fit for what you’re dealing with, call the clinic and ask. A five-minute conversation is better than an appointment that was never going to help.
