Naturopathy, nutrition and herbal medicine in Gledswood Hills
Most people arrive after a long stretch of not feeling right, often after being told nothing is wrong. Nathan starts with a full history — diet, sleep, stress, medications, what’s already been ruled out — and builds a plan from there.
What people come in with
Start with the thing that’s bothering you
You don’t need to know which approach you want. Describe the problem and Nathan will work out where to start.
Low energy and poor sleep
Waking unrefreshed, afternoon flatness, relying on caffeine to get through the day.
Digestion and gut symptoms
Bloating, irregularity, reflux, food that no longer seems to agree with you.
Hormones and cycles
Cycle changes, PMS, perimenopause, and preconception preparation for both partners.
Babies, children and teenagers
Feeding and settling, fussy eating, recurrent illness through daycare and school terms, skin and sleep.
Stress and feeling wired
Running hot, tense shoulders and jaw, a mind that won’t switch off at night.
Training and recovery
Fuelling for load, recovery between sessions, and nutrition for body composition goals.
How Nathan works
The methods behind the plan
Some of these are mainstream allied-health practice. Others are gentler adjuncts with a thinner evidence base, and they’re described here as they are.
Naturopathy
The umbrella consultation. A full case history covering diet, sleep, digestion, stress, medications and family history, alongside any pathology results you bring. The output is a written plan, not a bag of supplements.
Clinical nutrition
A close look at what you actually eat, where the gaps are, and whether targeted nutrients are worth trialling. Food changes come first; supplements are used where there’s a reason for them and reviewed rather than left running indefinitely.
Herbal medicine
Practitioner-only liquid extracts and tablets, blended for the individual rather than pulled off a shelf. Nathan will check formulas against your current medications before dispensing.
Sports nutrition
Fuelling around training load, hydration, recovery between sessions, and realistic body-composition planning. Suited to club athletes and anyone training consistently enough that diet has become a limiting factor.
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
A gentle technique combining muscle response testing, light physical contact and directed breathing, used to address the physical tension that can accompany a remembered stress. Fully clothed, no manipulation.
Neurological Integration System (NIS)
Light contact at specific points on the head and body while muscle response is tested. Sessions are brief, passive and painless, and people generally use it alongside their naturopathic plan rather than on its own.
Homeopathy
Highly diluted preparations, available for people who specifically ask for them. Nathan will discuss what is and isn’t known about them before you decide.
Your first visit
What actually happens
Before you arrive
You’ll be sent a Wellness Check questionnaire when you book. Complete and return it beforehand, and bring any recent blood tests, scans or specialist letters plus a list of everything you’re currently taking.
In the room
Mostly conversation. Nathan takes a long history and asks about things that may not seem related. Basic physical assessment where it’s relevant. Bring your questions.
Your plan
You leave with a care plan which will be emailed to you with any dietary changes in priority order, any formulas dispensed on the day, and a clear idea of any required follow up.
